Teaching

Laramie County Community College

I taught for Laramie County Community College (LCCC) from August 2013 to December 2014. During my tenure, I taught the Math 921, Algebra I, a total of four times. This class is designed as a remedial course and is aimed at offering the student the opportunity to learn basic algebra skills, develop problem solving skills and gain confidence in their algebraic abilities. This course involves a study of algebraic expressions, and algebraic equations. Successful students acquire knowledge and develop skills that enable them to simplify algebraic expressions, solve linear equations and inequalities, graph linear equations, use the rules of exponents, perform operations on polynomials, and factor polynomials.

Course Construction and Responsibility

Course content is designated by LCCC's curriculum. Syllabus, lecture notes, course schedule, method of delivery, homework, quizzes, exams, attendance policies, and other general policies are designed by the instructor. The typical Fall or Spring class size varied from 25 to 35 students. Summer lectures were approximately 5 students.
